The Homecoming

at the Desoto theatre

 

was GREAT!

 

Lee Shealy was honored for his ten years (!) as youth choir director.

 

The Desoto was full to the upper reaches of the balcony.

 

And the crowd was laughing, crying and cheering.

 

 

 

   

 

Trinity Folks Win Neighborhood Focus Awards

The City of Rome is committed to preserving its landmark neighborhoods and sponsored a program called Neighborhood Focus in the DeSoto / Avenue A community during the week of April 27 – May 1, 2009.

Neighborhood Focus, an educational program coordinated by Keep Rome Floyd Beautiful, is designed to work with residents to provide a better understanding of the many services provided by the City.  We also hope this program will build a sense of community and pride.  Each day, a Yard of the Day award was presented to a well-maintained yard in the neighborhood.  The award includes a basket containing a $25 Dollar General gift certificate along with many other prizes.  Frances Parker was our first recipient!  - Mary Hardin Thornton
